Shannon + Aaron:Art Nouveau Inspired

Shannon's boxed invitation design all started with her dress. The gorgeous embroidered design in a beautiful color scheme is the inspiration for her entire wedding. When we started the designs, I did some rose graphics, but they just weren't "it". Then Shannon and Aaron mentioned that they liked Art Deco - which was also apparent from the fonts they had chosen. I decided to send something more Art Nouveau to go along with Shannon's dress - we had a winner.

I used a different graphic on each of Shannon's pieces. These invitations became the most labor intensive invitations to date. Each of her four pieces is layered with black behind the pearl cardstock. So each insert is two layers of 110# cardstock and uber thick. Then every piece has rounded corners.

A long piece of thick satin ribbon is wrapped around the invitation and twisted around on the front. It creates a sash on the back to hold the inserts in place.

Then each package is placed inside my new box mailers. I designed another graphic for the address wraps and I designed two coordinating custom stamps for the invitation box.

When Shannon picked these up on Friday, she commented how much work went into these. We started with something so different than the final result and took many turns over the months. Shannon and Aaron were so wonderful considering they never saw the boxes or color first hand.

Bumper Sticker Save the Dates

I know - I might be pushing the envelope on these save the dates . . . but they're too awesome not to love. Andrea really wanted something different. I suggested Bumper Stickers and she was sold.

I designed the edge to be cut off and stuck on your calendar as another reminder! I wanted the argyle to be more modern and I designed this argyle pattern and it is a big hint into the graphic for her preppy wedding this August. I can't wait for the invitations.

Katie & Colt

This color combination is just perfect for a Spring wedding. The invitation and inserts are printed on pearlized paper in ice white and mint green. The indigo blue pocketfold is from Envelopments. The couple asked for lily and butterfly graphics to be worked into the invitation and this is what we came up with.

Pink Striped Bridal Shower invitations

Monica was one of my lovely brides last year. :) She is hosting a Wedding shower this year and asked me to design something for her. I was thrilled. Not only did I love working with Monica, but I get to do so few Shower Invitations, I miss them. I get to have fun and get girly on pink wedding shower invitations. :) Monica gave me full creative power on the shower invitations and only gave me "pink and stripes". I love the white and black damask looking cake on the table. The new font and the pink envelopes are some of my favorite details.

Meret + Andrew: Vintage Inspired

When I started talking to Meret about the design, she wanted something vintage. She sent me this beautiful picture of her wedding gown to give me inspiration.

And this detail photo was my inspiration for these invitations.

I loved the delicate little flowers in the detailing. Using this photo and Meret's overall theme of vintage, this was her final invitation proof.

I added the oval frame with tiny dots and it gave the invitation and other pieces the vintage feel that I was looking for.

I used the same vintage graphic for her coordinating custom stamps. The envelopes have the same vintage frame detail and I love this pretty ribbon wrap around the inserts.

Baby Shower Tea Party Invitations

Jamie had contacted me for her June wedding but I was booked and couldn't take her order. She asked if I could squeeze in baby shower invitations for her friend, Heather. I'm thrilled I did, although I had so much fun working with Jamie, it bummed me out that I couldn't do her wedding invitations. She told me that the baby shower would be a ladies tea party and gave me free reign on design. I wondered if I could put a baby in a teacup... I tried it and the baby is just so cute it worked!

We did an additional insert for parking information.

Indre + Marius: Wedding Inspiration

Indre and I started discussing the design back in December. I asked what I always do "Is there something about your wedding that you love?" I got this from Indre:

Also all the wedding flowers will have "ruta" herbs. It is a herb common in lithuanian culture. It was also the name of my fiance's mom - who passed 2 weeks ago. Something very subtle would be nice - but if it doesn't fit with your ideas it's ok. Does this help?

When I read the email, I knew that I had to include the Ruta herb because of the amazing meaning that this would have to both Indre and Marius. Indre then sent me this image for inspiration.

One of the really special elements of this invitation set is that the majority of the invitations were printed in Lithuanian. We did separate invitations - one in all Lithuanian and one in English. I absolutely love the oversized names on the invitations.

Then the insert cards were designed with the important details in both English and Lithuanian.

Even the custom designed map has the tiny image of the Ruta for the Reception.

Indre received the invitations yesterday and sent me this email. The invitations are ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!! I couldn't have imagined anything more perfect. Thank you for all your assistance and for making my ideas become a reality! But I want to thank Indre for choosing to me to design something so special for their wedding.

Codie & Nic

Loved the bright, fun color combination on this wedding invitation. This booklet style was done in Graphite Metallic cardstock with a Teal vellum overlay. The text was printed on a crisp White Linen. Adding an engagement photo to your wedding invitations is a great way to really personalize your invitations and make them your own!!

Rebecca + Chris: Wedding Inspiration

I want to try to do something different this season and show the process for the invitation design. It'll be a lot of extra blogging so we'll see how long it lasts. ;)

Rebecca contacted me to make her invitations for her upcoming April wedding. When we were talking about the design, Rebecca sent me this picture and email:

chris was taking pictures at the wedding location to create our own save the date. hummingbird nest ranch has amazing wrought iron gates all over the property that gives off a beautiful spanish vibe, which we fell in love with. the location is so unique and special, so we are trying to incorporate the "look" into elements of the wedding.

From her photo, I designed this pretty scroll work. I placed it in the very top corner, but not in full view.

This made the design not as formal and matched perfectly with Rebecca's choice of handwritten fonts and her informal wording. The colors are so beautiful and fresh in a forest green, light green and slate blue.

I had fun with the Rehearsal Dinner invitations and used a graphic with an iron scroll holding silverware.

Katherine & Kyle

This couple wanted to use a photo taken by the groom on their invitation. We printed the invitation text on a bright white vellum and attached it over the photo with a black satin ribbon. Another creative and unique wedding invitation designed here at Paper Pals.
